The Stories That SBR Readers Cared About Most
Five days a week. Four weeks a month. Twelve months a year. Man, I wrote a lot of blogs in 2008.
My goal was -- and continues to be -- to highlight the many topics that matter most to the smallest of businesses. That includes the importance of customer service, mobile trends, how to get the most bang for your marketing buck, and ways to increase your productivity.
Technology, of course, weaved its way through all of those topics -- especially in the form of easy-to-use, free, or low-cost tools. Those stories accounted for nearly half of SBR's top 20 stories for 2008. Most of the others: satisfying Uncle Sam and changes at eBay (leaving sellers frustrated, to put it mildly).
A trio of stories don't really fit any of those categories, and instead highlight the softer, people-side of business-related issues.
Of note, the following reflects SBR stories with the most page views, though I've organized them by theme, not traffic. While a list like this is helpful in determining blog direction in the year almost here, my virtual door is always open for your ideas.
