Wednesday's Woman: 2009 Working Mother Of The Year Awards
Working Mother magazine wants to celebrate its upcoming big 3-0 by honoring 30 great moms who are leaders both at home and in the workplace.
Nominations are being accepted online, via e-mail and by means of that place called a post office until Monday, Dec. 8, 2008. Working Mother (which, incidentally, will have a new parent helping to blow out its candles next year), is looking for candidates who:
- Balance work and family successfully
- Are great with her kids
- Lead at work
- Give back to their community
- Overcome obstacles
- Inspire and motivate others
Your submission should detail how the working mom you're nominating -- and, yes, it can be yourself -- embodies those characteristics. Be sure to include your nominee's name and age, her kids’ names and ages, where she lives, where she works, how she can be reached, plus her photo (300 dpi if you're sending it electronically). Include your name and contact info as well.
If you're mailing your nomination, address it to Working Mother of the Year Awards, Working Mother, 60 East 42nd Street, 27th Floor, New York, NY 10165-0001.
I'm waiting to hear back regarding when the winners will be announced or what that means for them beyond the press coverage. I'll keep you posted.
