Symantec Upgrades Antivirus Software
Symantec wants to ensure your small computer corner of the world is safer with a new version of its Norton 360 antivirus software.
The security software vendor is aiming Norton 360 version 2 at "people who use computers on a regular basis but don't necessarily have a Ph.D. in security -- the 'set it and forget it' type," said Mark Kanok, Symantec senior product manager for Norton 360, who spoke to my friends at ChannelWeb. There are a lot of end users who just want one package."
One new feature I think is particularly cool: The software waits until your computer is idle to go about its business, then pauses when you're ready to work again.

Norton 360 version 2 comes in two editions: a $79 Standard version, which comes equipped a with 2 GB for the "typical" user and can also be backed up to an iPod or Blu-Ray disk; and a $99 Premier edition, which comes with 10 GB, and is mainly aimed at users who store large audio or digital media files.
