Vexed By Vista? Switch Back to XP

Posted by Gayle Kesten Tuesday, Jan 22, 2008, 02:37 PM ET

When I bought my laptop last summer, I wasn’t thrilled about learning the Windows Vista ropes. I knew XP. I preferred XP. And maybe I could have found a machine running XP had I took the time to shop around.

But I didn’t. Six months later, I guess I’m used to it. No huge regrets, though an InformationWeek article explaining step-by-step how to switch from Vista to XP—or even “sidegrade” so you have the option of running either OS—is bringing up some unresolved feelings.

Like so many things in life, I’m sure I’ll get over it. In fact, I’m finding solace in another IWeek article that offers up a dozen ways to improve Vista’s performance.

I’m feeling better already.
